As much as I love products from liners to lipsticks, there are a few items that I absolutely love. Okay, so I’m going to break down what’s inside my makeup bag. Let’s get to it! 🙂
BareMinerals BarePRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20, C$42
I’m a huge fan of a matte finish, and this foundation definitely delivers. It’s also an organic foundation. A skin-loving, 24-hour, breathable, full-coverage, natural matte liquid foundation. It’s without parabens, sulfates and phthalates. This product is dermatologist tested, oil-free, non-acnegenic, and noncomedogenic. Long-lasting, plus light-weight.
Chanel Base Lumiere Illuminating Makeup Base, $48
I love this primer. It’s the only primer I have ever found that is lotion base. It moisturizes your skin, while priming it. Plus, you can use silicone-base products and water-base products. Your makeup will always be intact, plus it delivers long-lasting application. It’s non-greasy, non-oily. Just fabulous! I feel as though I had lucked out. It’s one of the first, if not the first makeup products with skincare benefits, which has become a new thing. I’m not calling it a trend, because I hope that it isn’t a trend.
A concealer that is light-weight and hydrating concealer that can be used as a foundation, as it is cream-based. A little goes a long way. his product is also hypoallergenic, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and noncomedogenic.
Zuzu Luxe Blush, $22
To find a blush that lasts longer than two hours, is hard to find. I have looked and looked, and have found some blushes,. Zuzu Luxe Blush is one of them. When you find a blush that blends nicely, it’s a keeper!
Jane Iredale Eye Shadow Kit, $59
My eyes have a tendency to itch and become dehydrated and sometimes dry and irritated. When the ingredient talc is infused in eye shadows. However, Jane Iredale’s version doesn’t itch my eyes at all. Dior, MAC, along with a few other companies don’t give me that problem. I love how easy it is to blend these eye shadows, and that your eye makeup can go from day to night easily and effortlessly. Three palettes are vegan and gluten-free; Daytime, Perfectly Nude and Naturally Matte. While these two shades are just gluten-free: Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and Naturally Glam.
Jane Iredale PureLash® Mascara, C$22
Finally! A mascara that is designed for sensitive eyes. It’s tough out there. You really end up becoming Goldie Locks trying to find a mascara that is just right. I feel the same way about eye shadows, too. It’s either too this, or too that. I never realized it until now, that I’ve become Goldie Locks when it comes to eye makeup. LOL! Anyway, PureLash mascara is vegan.
Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner, $26
Okay, I’ll let you in on a little secret, certified and professional makeup artist do not use liquid eyeliner for photo shoots, Tv & film shoots, or for anything. Liquid eyeliner is ay too harsh, and doesn’t do anything for your eyes. Sorry. We instead use cake liner, gel liner (love these two liners that creates a glam (and intense) liner look. So fab. If you want a professional application of makeup, go for one of my fave eye liners. Best Cake Liners are Ben Nye and Laura Mercier. Gel Liners: Smashbox, MAC. Powder eyeshadow is excellent for day, when you want something that’s natural. Some eye shadows can be used wet and dry. This gives an excellent alternative to an evening eyeliner that looks intense.
Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder, C$28
Brow powder is so natural looking, plus it’s long-lasting. Pencil isn’t natual -looking, plus a tip is to apply brow powder over top, so your brow makeup is in tact.
**Tinted Moisturizer: I don’t really use a tinted moisture. If I do use one, I will make my own. A tinted moisture in made up of either; half foundation and half moisturizer or 1/3 moisturizer, 1/3 foundation and 1/3 sunscreen, I’ll make my own. Moisturizer thins out foundation.
